About Me

Yuko Kobayashi, LMHC

Yuko Parris is a New York State licensed psychotherapist, a certified AEDP™ therapist as well as supervisor. She provides therapy sessions and supervision in her private practice. Originally from Japan, Yuko brings over 20 years of experience in the United States, enriching her practice with a deep bi-cultural perspective. She works with clients of various cultural backgrounds, including those dealing with attachment trauma and intergenerational trauma, integrating AEDP ethos to enhance the therapeutic experience.

After obtaining a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College, Yuko have worked for an outpatient mental health clinic, where she served a marginalized population, prior to starting her private practice. She specializes in helping those with anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties, complex trauma, and life transition. Her therapeutic approach is experiential and relational, based on an attachment-based model, AEDP.

Yuko has presented at AEDP™ Immersion training in the U.S as a guest presenter. She has been a dedicated teacher in numerous AEDP™ workshops and trainings held in Japan as well. She has supported various AEDP™ training programs, including Immersion, Essential Skill, and Advanced Skill, serving as both a lead assistant and experiential assistant on numerous occasions.
